PEN Català attends a European workshop for a more participative culture within the framework of the Engage project!

PEN Català attended, on the 21st and 22nd of February, the workshop "Participatory approach to literary events" in Belgium, organised by the European project SILO (Socially Inclusive Literature Operations) with the aim of promoting a more participative culture in the field of literature.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the University of UC Leuven- Limburg (Belgium), the Câmara Municipal da Madalena do Pico (Portugal), the Szepirok Tarsasaga - Hungarian Society of Writers (Hungary) and the Association Krokrodil (Serbia). The workshop allowed bridges to be built  between the European project SILO and Engage!, financed by Europa Creativa, with the aim of promoting the participation of new audiences in literary activities.

The meeting was held at the Cultuurhuis De Warande cultural centre in Turnhout, which backs the decentralisation of cultural activity and facilitates access to culture for those that do not live in large cities.
